Greetings everyone!
It’s been a busy couple of weeks since you heard from me. On a personal level, my wife Sarah went on a long weekend trip with her friend group to Tennessee to visit a member of their cohort who has moved there. I did get some author-y type work done while she was gone, but I did not like being without her. She’s my best friend and the person whose company I enjoy most in the world. I’m happy to say she’s back. The bad news is I’m leaving tomorrow for a retreat with my church’s youth group. The good news is it is a very short weekend, and it’s only about a half-hour away from home.
I’ve also been fighting some health issues. First, I came down with what I think was the flu, with a terrible headache, body aches, and fatigue. Almost the moment I overcame that, I threw my back out. Two trips to the chiropractor later, and I seem to be on the mend from that as well.
On the author side of things, I have two fun pieces of news. First, is this:
I’m so excited to share that my newest book, Cast The First Stone: A Sam and Meg Stone Mystery, is now available for purchase. It’s available for now as a paperback and e-book. Maybe someday I’ll do an audio book, but that’s not part of my immediate plans. To buy it, use the QR Code in the above video, or click here. If you’re local to me and would like a paperback, you should buy it directly from me, as the price is lower. I’m not at a point where I can ship in a cost-effective way, though, so that’s only true if I can put the book directly into your hands.
My second fun news is that I’ve begun drafting book #2 in the Sam and Meg Stone Mystery series, which is tentatively entitled Hard As Stone. I’m participating in an event called Novel November, which was started this year by Pro Writing Aid to fill the void left by the implosion of National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo. Just like its predecessor, this program exists to support writers and encourage them to write at least 50,000 words in the month of November. It has lots of neat features, such as writing webinars, discussion groups, organized writing sprints, the opportunity to get feedback on your work, and much more. What I’m in it for, though, is the simple motivation of publicly recording my progress. I’m behind already, but I’m still making good progress, having written over 6000 words so far. I’ll let you know next time I write just how far behind I still am.
This website sometimes really feels like I’m shouting into the void. I’d love to hear back from you. Please feel free to respond with questions. Also, if you’re one of the folks who signed up to be an ARC reader, I am asking you, with a hint of desperation, if you would please post a review for me, preferably on Amazon. I am still waiting to hear from Goodreads that they’ve accepted my claim on the book, so you may not be able to review there. But you can also review it anywhere else on the interwebz you would like. Just please respond and let me know you have and where I can find it. I would greatly appreciate it.
Godspeed!
